Buying
In the room
Our auctions are held in our London Office or JW hotel Mayfair. When greeted, we will ask you to provide us with details to register you as a bidder free of charge. You will receive a paddle to present to the auctioneer whilst bidding.
By telephone
To book a telephone bid simply call us on or email us at requesting the lots you wish to bid on. We will call you back 2-3 lots before it's offered on the Auction day.
By absentee bid
If you are unable to bid in the room on the day of the auction you can leave an absentee bid with us via phone, email or in person. Simply leave your details and the maximum amount you wish to bid up to and the auctioneer will have your bid on the rostrum.
Bid live online
Once registered with third party online bidding platform, you can bid in our auction live via their website. Please note there is an additional charge for using this service. See details on Upcoming Auction.
Free valuations
Obtaining a valuation couldn't be simpler, with valuers and specialists on hand Thursday and Friday 10am-6pm. Once we have assessed your items, we advise you which sale would best suit. Items can be brought into either our London or Birmingham valuation branch.
If you're in a hurry we can also offer you a free valuation via email. All you need to do is send some images of the item you would like valuing, including as much information as possible to us. We'll aim to get back to you within 3 working day.
Home visits can be arranged by appointment with our specialists take in consignments of antiques, jewellery and watches from all over the UK. After undergoing a thorough cataloguing process, all of our sales are available to view in person at our Stratford and London salerooms and online. View our Upcoming Auctions.
Registering to Bid and Charges
Before placing an online bid on an item, you first need to register with us. Our registration process is quick and simple, and you only need to register once to enable you to bid on any future auctions. We'll aim to get back to you within 2 working day.
We charge sellers commission of 15% + VAT on the hammer price. We also charge a £5 + VAT entry fee per lot each sale the lot is entered into and a warranty fee of 1% + VAT of either the estimated low value or the reserve.
Buyers shall pay to us a premium on the hammer price of 20% + VAT (24% inclusive with VAT) on that commission.
